What we do
Science literacy is not a science skill. It is a life skill.
Adaptive Science Academy is designed to teach science through the process that produces scientific knowledge. The Adaptive Science Investigative Pathway (ASIP) places students inside the historical arc of discovery: the unsolved problems that prompted investigations, the competing explanations scientists weighed, and the evidence that ultimately resolved the debates. Students begin with the questions scientists asked and walk the path of scientific discovery.
When students learn to trace evidence, examine methodology, and connect ideas across disciplines, they develop a way of thinking that transfers to every subject and every question they encounter throughout their lives. Reading, mathematics, history, and science are not separate subjects. They are different lenses on the same world.
Our curriculum aligns with the Next Generation Science Standards (NGSS) and integrates hands-on activities and interactive elements at each stage to give students repeated contact with concepts across the unit, supporting the durable understanding that carries beyond the course.
